Sankt Annen Sword, 12th C (based on type XII)
Typical of the High Middle Ages, the sword begins to show greater tapering of the blade and a shortened fuller, features which improve thrusting capabilities while maintaining a good cut. The sword was found in a river or lake in Denmark and is a part of the Nationalmuseet, Copenhagen collection. The c.1225-75 period sword has a J-type pommel. The pommel is bronze and the cross is plain iron.
Deepeeka’s replica comes complete with a scabbard, has a full tang, and is heat treated to a Rockwell of 48-52. Our blades are made out of high carbon steel.
The St. Annen sword has a blade of high carbon steel. The hilt is a steel guard with a leather-covered grip of wood and a pommel of bronze. The sword tang is peened over the steel peen block on the pommel for a strong and lasting hilt construction. The scabbard is wood which is wrapped in leather.
